Empowering people with disabilities for over 25 years
Devon Disability Network

Enabling disabled and Deaf people to campaign and be involved in developing the services that they use.

The Devon Disability Network (DDN) allows people with disabilities and Deaf people to campaign independently on issues that are important to them and be involved in developing services that they use.

The Network is made up of volunteer co-ordinators who raise issues with the appropriate authorities on behalf of disabled and Deaf residents in Devon and feedback responses. The aim of the Network is also to provide a link between existing disability groups around the County. Together we can have a stronger voice!

Healthwatch Devon: the Devon Disability Network works with Healthwatch Devon to ensure that people with physical and/or sensory disabilities and Deaf people (who use British Sign Language) can have their say on health and social care services.

Last year we supported people to take part in a number of surveys, meetings and focus groups on topics such as residential disabled parking bays; experiences of giving feedback to health services; preparing for adulthood; Devon County Council’s community survey and more!
The reports following the consultation activities are published on the Healthwatch Devon website at: http://www.healthwatchdevon.co.uk/reports/

About Us

Living Options Devon is a well respected user-led organisation which works to ensure that people with disabilities and Deaf people can live the life they choose. Set up in 1990 LOD is a registered charity (Charity N0. 1102489) and a company limited by guarantee (No. 4925281). Based in Exeter and Barnstaple, our charitable aims mean we we can offer services across the South West and share good practice throughout the UK. Being led and run by people with disabilities and Deaf people ensures LOD has first hand knowledge and understanding of the issues facing service users and so is very well placed to increase the influence and voice of Deaf and disabled people. We do this by providing education, training and services which enable people to live the lives they choose.

We are happy to provide all information about Living Options Devon and its projects in alternative formats by request. Please contact us using the details above.
