Fund BSL Health Access

NHS England funding for BSL Health Access will run out at the end of March 2021.  This will stop the vital service that has broken down barriers to healthcare for the Deaf community during the pandemic.

Vital Service for the Deaf Community

To limit the spread of Covid-19, health services across the country switched to phone consultations, leaving many Deaf people without access to basic healthcare during a national health crisis.

Deaf health charity SignHealth invested £800,000 of its own reserves to cover the costs of the service, but from April 1st 2021 the BSL Health Services will come to an end as further funding from the the NHS has not been secured.
