Disability Awareness Training, induction and skills matrix
This course looks at how to be more inclusive when working with disabled people. The session also includes a Skills Matrix induction and introduction to PA peer support.

Disability Awareness Training
Please complete the registration form below, selecting your preferred date from the drop-down list. Upon registration, we will send you details on how to join the training, along with a skills matrix that will need to be completed before you attend the session.
Course Information:
Join us for a 2.5 hour session of Disability Awareness training. This course looks at how to be more inclusive when working with disabled people, by giving learners an understanding of the social barriers people with disabilities may face.
Delivered by our inhouse trainer Jenna Spiller who has previously worked in Health and Social Care as an Occupational Therapist, and has lived experience of disability.
This course will cover:
An introduction into our charity Living Options Devon
Models of disability
Overcoming social barriers
Inclusive language
Active learning evaluation of your own working environments
The Equality Act 2010
Introduction of peer support.
Dates are available in February and March 2022
