Devon Advocacy Service (DAC)

The Devon Advocacy Consortium working together to provide free and independent advocacy services for people over sixteen across Devon and Torbay.

We take action to help people say what they want, secure their rights, represent their interests and get the services they need.  Founded in 2014 Devon Advocacy Consortium (DAC) is a partnership of six charitable organisation who specialise in their own area, working together to provide free and independent advocacy services across Devon and Torbay.  This means that we are able to allocate referrals to the most appropriate provider dependent on the persons needs, we can meet you at your home or at a place of your choice.

Providing free and independent advocacy services in:

  • Independent Care Act Advocacy
  • Independent Mental Health Advocacy
  • Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy
  • NHS Complaints Advocacy – Devon only
  • Paid Representative service
  • Litigation Friend service

The Devon Advocacy Consortium are commissioned by Devon County Council and Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust. We operate independently of the local authority and any other commissioning bodies.

Our team of Advocates are trained to work with specific client groups, and all Advocates have undertaken specialist City & Guilds accredited training.
