William’s Story

William has a hearing impairment, he first came into contact with the See Hear centre some time ago and has been a frequent visitor receiving information, advice and support.

William lives alone and felt a little lonely as a result of not being able to ‘keep in touch with the world’ due to his hearing impairment. He struggled in particular to hear the telephone and to watch television.

As a result of the information and advice he has received from the See Hear Centre team, William now has equipment in place to make his daily life and communication easier, in particular an amplifier to help him hear on the telephone. He has received a lot of support with using the internet and his laptop, something which he has found especially helpful and has helped him to feel less lonely, as he is now able to communicate by email with his family.
