Living Options Devon celebrates 35 years in 2025

Proudly celebrating 35 years 1990-2025
This year marks 35 years since Peter Swain founded the charity Living Options Devon. Peter set out to make a difference to the lives of disabled people. 35 years on, Living Options continues to empower disabled and Deaf people to live the life they choose.
The charity now supports over 10,000 people with disabilities, long term health conditions, Deaf people and their families annually.
As we celebrate 35 years, we look ahead, aware of the work still to be done and the evolving needs of those we support.
Working together we’re committed to support and empower disabled and Deaf people to have a voice and to live their life, their way.

Peter Swain’s Legacy
Peter’s words remain at the heart of the charity. His legacy continues to influence the work we do and our on-going commitment to making a difference.
“Barriers for disabled people still exist… levels of understanding amongst the wider community, are limited as to what disabled people have the capability of achieving.. Major steps have been taken… but if we could improve that it would be a major achievement…” Peter Swain OBE
