Why do you love your garden?

Published 26th April 2021, in Fundraising, News & Updates, Uncategorised

Did you manage to get out in your garden this weekend? The weather was perfect for weeding your flower beds, tending to your lawn or making the finishing touches to your patio pot plants in time for our photography competition.

This June we are partnering with local turf and topsoil company HCT Turf to find out why you love your garden. We’ll be inviting garden owners across Devon to take part in the #ILoveMyGarden photography competition. You have the chance to share your beautiful garden with the rest of Devon, win the converted Golden Spade Award, and raise funds to refurbish one of our Countryside Mobility Hire Scheme all-terrain mobility scooter’s

Garden Photography Competition

We’re asking you to snap your favourite part of your garden, be it a view, flower, vegetable, sculpture, or lawn, and tell us why you love it. Anyone can get involved, you don’t have to have a large garden to take part in this competition.

Perhaps you have created a mini oasis on your balcony, or your court garden has a fabulous water feature. Maybe flowers aren’t really your thing, but a weed-free, freshly mowed lawn is. Whatever it might be, take a photo this June, share it on your social media with #ILoveMyGarden along with an explanation of why it brings you so much joy.

Every garden entered raises £1 towards our charity

For each entry, HCT Turf will give £1 to our Countryside Mobility Hire Scheme, which is an initiative of our charity. Countryside Mobility ensures that people with limited mobility can still enjoy the great outdoors at some of the most treasured gardens and beauty spots across the south west.

We hope to raise £1000 through this year’s #ILoveMyGarden photo competition. The money will go towards refurbishing one of our longest-serving ‘trampers’ (all-terrain mobility scooter).

“We hope you’ll all join us in sharing your beautiful garden photos to reach our target donation to this wonderful local charity.”

We look forward to sharing further details on the #ILoveMyGarden competition in May, until then you can keep up to date on this and other news on our social media channels or HCT’s Turf website where you can also view last years entries.

“Being able to access the great outdoors has never been more important. We’re so grateful for this fundraising opportunity which we hope will enable
one of our longest serving Trampers to get some much needed
TLC. This will guarantee many more special memories for families
and friends enjoying beautiful places together.”
