Devon-wide, dynamic, progressive, user-led organisation seeks:

Independent Mental Capacity Advocate (IMCA)

£24,799 p.a. pro rata (NJC 19)

30 hours per week Permanent

Exeter office based working with ability to travel across Devon.

The Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA) Service is part of the Devon Advocacy Consortium, commissioned by Devon County Council to provide a high quality advocacy service across Devon and Torbay.

We are looking for someone with:

  • A good understanding of the principles of advocacy;

 

  • Experience of working with people who have a range of disabilities and communication problems; and

 

  • A good working knowledge in areas of Safeguarding, Mental Capacity, Mental Health or other relevant speciality

 

Full accredited IMCA training will be provided.

 

Closing date:   Friday October 15th

Interview date:  Friday October 29th 2021.

New government regulations come into force on 11 November 2021, requiring care home staff to refuse entry to anybody who cannot evidence that they have had two doses of a Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) approved COVID-19 vaccine, or that they come within a specified exemption. This applies to all Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulated care homes providing nursing or personal care in England.

Applicants with a specified exemption will be considered on an equal footing with all others.

The successful applicant will be required to provide proof of double vaccination or a specified exemption.
