Waiting Well Patient Support Officer

£25,481 (scale 19) FTE/Pro Rata – contract or casual basis, contributory pension if on contract

16 to 37.5 hours per week

Temporary Contract until 30th June 2022 with option to extend, funding permitted.

Hybrid working – Remote working with occasional visits to main office in Exeter

A great opportunity to make a difference for those waiting for NHS treatment. Work alongside and assist the Waiting Well Operations Coordinator to enable people to stay as healthy as possible whilst waiting for NHS input.’.

 

The role:

  • To provide direct client support offering a person centered holistic service which keeps people safer whilst waiting for Elective Care through community support and connectedness.
  • To keep up to date with information required to provide advice to people referred to us through website, telephone etc
  • To log all client/patient contacts onto the LOD Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
  • To maintain good working relationships with partners and other stakeholders, collecting feedback as required by the Operations co-ordinator.
  • To provide LODs Research Lead data and monitoring sheets as required
  • To support the Operations Support Co-ordinator (Waiting Well Project) regarding using the website to provide information and marketing the service, social media, publicity mailings etc as requested
  • To attend appropriate training courses as identified.
  • To attend staff meetings and team meetings as required.
  • To attend and participate in regular work appraisals and any other support systems as appropriate.
  • Ensure relevant safeguarding policies and practices are adhered to

  • Knowledge of the health and social care system
  • Understanding of key issues affecting people waiting for surgery and sensory impairments.
  • Understanding of GDPR policies
  • Previous experience of working as a health or social care professional or support worker
  • Ability to work alone
  • Highly motivated
  • Numeracy Skills
  • IT Skills
  • Excellent communication skills
