We’re proudly supporting Sign Language Week! 18 – 24 March.
Organised by the British Deaf Association, Sign Language Week is celebrated each March in recognition of the first time British Sign Language (BSL), was acknowledged as a language in its own right by the UK Government back in March 2003.
The week is a chance to celebrate and educate. Encouraging more people to start learning sign language and preserving BSL for future generations.
Here at Living Options our Deaf-Led Services Lead, Justine, has created some mini BSL videos sharing how to sign some handy day-to-day greetings and words. We will be posting on our socials throughout the week encouraging everyone to have a go!
The British Deaf Association (BDA) have produced lots of handy resources to help learn more about BSL and Irish Sign Language (ISL) and there are a number of events taking place during the week.
