Are you a member of the Deaf community in Plymouth looking to improve your fitness? Then sign up for our 5K Your Way in BSL fitness program today. The Deaf Get Active team has recently been awarded additional funding from The Livewell Foundation. So to encourage and support members of the Deaf community in Plymouth to get active and keep active, through their 5K Your Way in BSL fitness program.

5K Your Way in BSL – Are you ready to take on the challenge?

The British Sign Language version of the well-established Couch to 5K and Strive for 5 fitness programs are for absolute beginners. The program guides you step by step off the couch and back into fitness with the goal of achieving 5K running or walking at the end of the 9 weeks. By signing up to take part you will have access to a private facebook group where you can share your results and encourage others in the group. Our Deaf Get Active team will be your virtual personal motivators, sharing top tips, support and encouragement throughout.

How do I take part?

Once you have signed up to join the program you will be given access to a private Facebook group where you can meet other members of the Plymouth Deaf Community taking on the challenge. The group will be monitored by our very own Deaf Get Active team coach ‘Mark’. You will also have access to the 5K Your Way playlist on our YouTube channel, this has all the weekly 5K Your Way videos in BSL and subtitled.
