Published 17th June 2022, in Blog, News, News & Updates

Great Western Trains have announced planned industrial action by the RMT union across their network. They expect rail services to be severely affected from 21 to 25 June, and a significantly reduced temporary timetable will be in place.

Passenger Assist

Great Western Railways have told us that if customers whose trains are still running have booked Passenger Assist, then this will be provided.

However, on strikes days they will only able to run trains on the main line between Exeter/Plymouth/Taunton, and all of the branch lines Barnstaple, Exmouth, Paignton, Okehampton will be closed. There will be an extremely limited number of trains that can run and those that do will be extremely busy.

On the days in between strikes (Wednesday and Friday) they are also expecting to only be able to run a limited number of trains, and have advised that those will be extremely busy and subject to last minute changes.

They are advising that you only travel by rail if necessary. If you do travel, you should expect severe disruption and plan ahead.
